Initiating a massive Rs.2,000-crore road infrastructure development project, the Delhi Government on Wednesday set the ball rolling with its Expenditure Finance Committee (EFC) approving 26 projects in this regard. A total of 31 projects worth Rs.584 crore, of which 27 would be executed by the Public Works Department and four by the Irrigation and Flood Control Department, were approved in the meeting.
Following a meeting of the committee, Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit, who also holds the Finance portfolio, said the mega road infrastructure development program, which is estimated to cost over Rs.2,000 crore, would be completed within two years.
