Plans to fight industrial pollution
Polluting units at an industrial area Growing pollution thanks to rapid industrialisation has prompted the state government to draw up plans to address the problem. Nabard loan for parched state
Ranchi, Jan. 29: National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (Nabard) has sanctioned a fresh loan to the state government for installing irrigation facilities and generating employment opportunities in rural areas through construction of check dams and forestry development schemes.

Green power plant mooted
A Delhi-based company, Urja Global Ltd (UGL), has expressed willingness to set up a 100MW capacity thermal power plant in the state with an environment friendly technology that will ensure zero carbon emission. Executives of the company today called on the energy department officials to begin the process of signing an MoU with the state for setting up the plant.

One more steel plant for Bokaro
Bokaro will soon boast a second steel plant. Announcing this today at the end of his two-day visit to Bokaro, Union minister for steel Virbhadra Singh said Bokaro had 44,000 acres to spare and that would be used to set up a new plant in joint venture with a global player like Posco or some other reputed steel maker. A new power plant was also in the pipeline.
