The district environmental engineer, Tamil Nadu Pollution Control Board, Kancheepuram, has submitted to the member secretary of the Board that a plastic unit be directed to shut down. “It is submitted and recommended that direction may be issued to the unit under Section 33 (A) of Water (P and CP) Act, 1974 and Section 31 (A) of the Air (P and CP), Act, 1981 for closure of the unit and disconnection of power supply,” said the note from the district environmental engineer.
