• Geoinformatics as a tool for the assessment of the impact of ground water quality for irrigation on soil health

  Secondary salinisation is the most harmful and extended phenomenon of the unfavourable effects of irrigation on the soil and environment. An attempt was made to study the impact of poor quality ground water on soils in terms of secondary salinisation and availability of soil nutrients in Faridkot district of Punjab of northern India.

• Chemical analysis of Gaula river water and adjoining hill side tension crack water near Amiya village, Nainital

  Water samples from Gaula river and water accumulated in the tension cracks of the nearby hill side which are prone to slide due to complex geotechnical problems and later converge in the river near Amiya village, Nainital district, Uttaranchal, have been analysed geochemically, in order to understand the quality of water and level of contamination.
