Of the many concerns shared by the SAARC countries in the area of disaster management, Landslide Risk Management deserves to be placed high on its priority agenda for many compelling reasons. It is a part of their global commitment and obligation to posterity.
This document reports on a workshop which purpose was to assess the strength and weakness of current initiatives for earthquake risk assessment, mitigation, response and recovery in South Asian region. It looks forward to help developing a roadmap for regional cooperation for a short, medium and long term basis for earthquake risk management in the South Asian region.
This report by SDMC documents the indigenous knowledge of different communities living in multi-hazard zones Nepal, Sri Lanka and India. Shows that communities use the indigenous knowledge to anticipate natural hazard that afflicts them to prepare better to face the disaster.
