Gruelling heat tightened its grip over most parts of North India on Monday killing two persons in Rajasthan as the mercury rose further at many places in the region with Sriganganagar in the desert state being the hottest at 48.7 degrees. Both the casualties, that of a rag picker and a sweeper, occurred in Jaipur which sizzled at 45 degree C, six degrees above normal.
The State Water Resources Department (WRD) has proposed revision of the Brahmaputra danger level (DL) for Dibrugarh town so far as the flood vulnerability of the town is concerned. The town has at present 104.24 metres set as the DL for the river.

Mumbai: At least ten persons were killed in a landslide triggered by heavy rains in coastal Ratnagiri district of Maharashtra in the wee hours today. The incident occurred at Harne village in Dapoli tehsil at around 2am, police said.
