The project will come up on a grazing area but the villagers seem unaware of the project.

KMC to build flats for poor at Rajarghat
KOLKATA 22 DEC: Kolkata Municipal Corporation (KMC) will build 60 flats for economically challenged people within February, 2010 at Rajarghat off EM Bypass.. The flats will come up under the Basic Service For Urban Poor (BSUP) scheme and will be funded by the Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JNNURM).

Haryana to construct 38,000 homes for poor
Chandigarh: The Haryana government would provide land to the Haryana Housing Board for construction of 38,000 houses in the state for people belonging to economically weaker sections of society in both urban and rural areas. The land in urban areas would be provided on collector rates and in rural areas, it would be given on floor rates.

Facing ecological hurdle, government shelves low-cost housing project at Deramandi
While the government is yet to begin allotment of the 8,000-odd low-cost homes built last August under the Rajiv Gandhi Awas Yojna, it has already dropped its slum relocation project at Deramandi since it falls in the Ridge area. Apart from Deramandi, two slum relocation projects at Jonapur and Najafgarh are also awaiting clearance from the Environment department.

The Rajiv Awas Yojana will focus on according property rights to slum dwellers and urban poor by the States, providing basic amenities and enabling the construction of houses through access to subsidised credit.
