NEW DELHI: The Municipal Corporation of Delhi will soon be replacing incandescent bulbs and lamps in all municipal buildings in the city with energy efficient CFL bulbs to conserve electricity. A proposal in this regard was granted approval by the MCD Standing Committee on Wednesday.
The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) has decided to replace all existing bulbs and lamps across various municipal buildings with energy-efficient T-5 lamps and CFL lights. The decision has been taken in accordance with the Energy Conservation Act (2001), MCD standing committee chairperson R K Singhal said. The civic body will take up the project in two phases at a cost of Rs 2.6 crore.
