Good news from Palamau: Tiger count now up to six
A report prepared by the Hyderabad Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology (CCMB) has ascertained the exact number of tigers in the Palamau Tiger Reserve, Jharkhand, to be six. The report was based on DNA analysis of scat samples collected from inside the reserve area of 1026 sq km, between June 2008 and July 2009.

GoM proposes global bids for clean-up
New Delhi: A fairer deal for victims has been worked out by the Group of Ministers (GoM) on Bhopal Gas Tragedy. It also tackled the issue of environmental clean-up. While a sum of Rs 300 crore will be set apart for the clean-up job, Rs 227 crore has been earmarked for upgrading seven hospitals including the Bhopal Memorial Trust hospital which was set up in the aftermath of the tragedy.

NEW DELHI: The Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) on Tuesday set up a group of experts to verify claims of higher than prescribed levels of electromagnetic radiation (EMR) in the Capital.
