GANDHINAGAR: Gujarat government on Saturday decided to allocate Rs 25 crore each to six municipal corporations, including Ahmedabad, for developing city infrastructure. According to an official release of the state urban development department, AMC has been asked to use the grant for building a four-lane railway over-bridge and a new multistorey building for the LG Hospital from the grant. "In all, we have allocated Rs 150 crore,"urban development minister Nitin Patel said.

Gandhinagar: Gujarat Wild Life Advisory Board has in a unanimous resolution demanded funds from the Central government for lion conservation. The resolution, taken in a meeting on Monday, demanded that the Centre should take up lion conservation on the lines of Project Tiger. The board in the resolution also said the Centre has been neglecting the lion conservation programme. Chief Minister Narendra Modi also called on the board members to meet Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and make a representation to allocate funds for lion conservation.

Ahmedabad: The Gujarat Maritime Board (GMB) on Thursday sought further time from Gujarat High Court to submit its inspection report regarding fishermen's allegations on the Adanis that the Mundra Port Special Economic Zone (MPSEZ) has violated court's order by contunued to fill three creeks near Mundra. A division bench has granted GMB the time till Aug 29 to file its reply. Earlier, it was asked to file the report on Thursday and the hearing was kept on August 25.
