European Commission sets strategy for global action post Copenhagen
The European Commission today proposed that the European Union continue to press for a “robust and legally binding global agreement that involves all countries in real climate action” and begin implementing last December's Copenhagen Accord by providing financial assistance to developing countries. However, it said that the world might not be able to reach a global deal until 2011.

China to stick to climate change stand, expects India to follow suit
BEIJING: China said it will not deviate from its stand on climate change even after it gave qualified approval to the Copenhagen climate accord on Tuesday. It expects India to stick to its stand as well, a senior Chinese official said on Wednesday.

India, China to formally back Copenhagen Accord
INDIA and China have decided to formally back the Copenhagen Accord worked out at the climate summit in December. While neither India nor China have said that they would ‘associate’ with the accord, both countries have agreed to have their names listed in the preamble. The move would come as boost to the accord.

BASIC difference in increasing members to keep G-77 strong
NEW DELHI: With BASIC countries — Brazil, South Africa, India and China — emerging as an influential grouping in climate change

India weighs costs before embracing
