1400 hectares of agriculture land damaged in Leh
SRINAGAR, Sept 1: Due to flash floods and cloudburst in Leh last month, 28 thousand quintals of food grains of different standing crops spread over 1400 hector of agriculture land have been damaged.
This was revealed from the survey of SKUAST(K) conducted about the damage caused to the Agriculture crop and land by the cloudburst.

KAMALABARI, Sept 1 – Erosion by the Brahmaputra continues unabated at Shalmara, Dakhinpat, Kumargaon, Chumoimari, Bengenati, Bhakat Chapari, Saraati, Moluwal and Dakhin Majuli. Admn chops trees to plug breaches in dam, no plan to make up for loss
More than 2,500 trees have been cut down to plug breaches near Dhussi dam and its surrounding areas in Ludhiana.
In Kherabet area alone, more than 600 trees were cut from the forestland, though not a single tree grown by the landlords on the riverbed have been touched.
