Cattle epidemic under control
ROING, Dec 3: An outbreak of some common diseases of cattle has been reported in Anpum, Bizari and Paglam areas under Dambuk sub division of Lower Dibang Valley district since a week. Reacting promptly, the district administration directed the Veterinary department to take stock of the situation.

HIV has killed 25m and infected 60m so far: UN report
Geneva: Almost 60 million people have been infected by HIV and 25 million people killed by causes related to the virus since the epidemic started, according to new data published by UNAIDS on Tuesday.

Each Kurnool home has 3t trash
Oct. 26: The floods that swamped Kurnool last month dumped thousands of tonnes of sand and sludge in streets, drains and lakhs of buildings.
Since the city was submerged for several days, the water foodgrain, clothes and anything that was degradable. Every house has generated an estimated 3-5 tonnes of garbage.

CM calls for immediate action on fatal diseases
Oct. 25: The Chief Minister, Mr K. Rosaiah, on Sunday asked officials to launch a special drive to bring epidemics under control.
According to a Chief Minister’s Office press release, Mr Rosaiah declared a war on the outbreak of epidemics in different parts of the state.

Climate blamed for epidemic
Oct. 25: Hyderabad district has 125 dengue cases, 62 of them confirmed, with one death.
In Ranga Reddy district, 28 cases of dengue have been reported. Though many suspected cases of chikungunya have also been reported, only one has been confirmed in Hyderabad.

After flood, epidemic fear
The Andhra Pradesh government faces its toughest task yet since the floods as it grapples with threats of outbreak of post-flood epidemics. Krishna, Kurnool, Guntur, Kadapa and Mahabubnagar districts, which were ravaged by the floods and remained underwater for six days, now face the possibility of the outbreak of cholera, malaria, diarrhoea and even plague is being feared.

Bijapur: Growing fear of epidemic outbreak
Apart from the large scale destruction, the rains have brought with them the fear of an epidemic outbreak.
The 60 slums in the Bijapur city have already reported cases of H1N1 and dengue, and now the number of people suffering from fever, cold, cough, vomiting is steadily increasing.
