TIRUCHI: The district administration has given a fresh impetus to the execution of works taken up under the National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme after a brief lull following last month

Beneficiaries of National Rural Employment Guarantee programme will get Rs 100 per day. Rural development and Panchayat Raj department has issued an order in this respect. The State government will contribute Rs 15 along with Union government which is already paying Rs 85.

The State Cabinet on Friday gave its approval for extending Metro Rail by 0.6 kms from Jaraganahalli to Puttenahalli at a cost of Rs 681 crore.

This also includes three more metro stations at Banashankari, J P Nagar and Puttenahalli, Minister for Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Shobha Karandlaje told reporters.
