The majority of households in urban as well as rural areas migrate because of employment opportunities, according to a new government survey.

Nearly 55 per cent of households in rural areas and 67 per cent in urban areas migrated for employment-related reasons in 2007-08, says the National Sample Survey Office report (64th round) released today.
