LUCKNOW: Lucknowites need to wait a little to avail forest department's scheme to provide `plantation at one's doorstep'. Though it has been in existence since August, 2008 the delayed rains have put it on hold for some time.

Madhya Pradesh Rajya Laghu Vanopaj Sangh is planning to undertake plantation with a view to increasing production of Tendu leaves in the state. The work of plantation will be undertaken soon. After growing of these trees, the Tendu leaf collectors will be able to collect Tendu leaves from nearby areas.

A third agency will verify the works undertaken in villages under Hariyali Mahotsava. Besides, responsibility will be fixed for effective implementation of the scheme.
