The State Government has released an amount of Rs. 23 lakh to three districts in order to extend financial help the citizens affected by natural calamity. Relief Commissioner Office accorded a sanction of Rs. 10 lakh to Ashok Nagar while Rs. 8 lakh to Jhabua and an amount of Rs. five lakh has been given to Sheopur district.

In order to ensure self help groups better livelihoods opportunities by strengthening them, the National Rural Livelihoods Mission (NRLM) would be implemented in ten districts of the state that include - Mandla, Dindori, Balaghat, Shahdol, Anuppur, Sheopur, Dhar Jhabua Badwani and Aalirajpur. The NRLM would be implemented by the State Livelihoods Forum.

Taking cue from State Forest officials, residents in Sheopur district of Madhya Pradesh have also slammed the decision of the Gujarat Government to disallow the translocation of Asiatic lions to the Palpur-Kuno sanctuary.

The residents have described the Gujarat Government's move as anti-tourism, and one that will hamper employment prospects in the area.
