Banyan, peepal trees to get reserve status

Forest Dept ready to postpone hearing on Chorao bird sanctuary

Bowing to the demands of gram sabha, State Forest Department has conceded to postpone the hearing to declare Chorao’s Dr Salim Ali Bird Sanctuary as Critical Wildlife Habitat (CWH).
Chief Conservator of Forest (CCF), Dr Shashi Kumar today told Herald that the department is ready to postpone the hearing for next month.
