Day of the tiger?
a london-based non-governmental organisation's ( ngo ) controversial report has caused a flutter amongst the votaries of conservation here. The Big Cat Cover Up , a report on the "truth behind the Indian tiger crisis' published by Michael Day, has not only severely criticised the Central and various state governments, besides the much-touted Project Tiger, but has also accused World Wide Fund for Nature-India ( wwf-i ) in general and its secretary-general Samar Singh in particular of doing nothing to save the tiger and grossly misutilising funds worth millions of us dollars. Day, who released the report on September 12, 1996, is founder of the ngo Tiger Trust.
