Light arrested
two separate groups of researchers, based in the us, have brought light to a halt. This could have an enormous impact on our understanding of how information is transmitted and stored. You may not exactly be able to catch light in your hand but it is now possible to trap it in a cloud of atoms.
According to the Theory of Relativity, the speed of light in a vacuum is the maximum speed at which information can be transmitted. This speed is enormous by our everyday standards
