• Argemone detection kit
A simple and portable kit for rapid screening of argemone in mustard oil. A small quantity (5 millilitres) of mustard oil is extracted with a re-agent mixture and a drop of it is applied to a filter paper strip, which is then viewed under a fluorescence detection device. The appearance of an orange spot indicates the presence of argemone.
• Herbal cosmetics
The National Botanical Research Institute ( NBRI) developed 15 different shades of lipstick in natural colours after an in-depth study of aromatherapy. Different essential oils are known to induce specific moods and the feeling of well-being which can in turn counter fatigue, relieve pain and stress. NBRI has even come up with a transparent lipstick for men.
