A perfect model
Choosing a set of parameters is an exercise in precision. The collected data when sieved through the parameters should consistently give similar results and be in consonance with evidence available on ground. Keeping this in mind, grp ensured that the rating criteria were as objective as possible. The robustness of the rating criteria was checked against stringent benchmarks.
It was only after the parameters passed the litmus test of robustness that the ratings process was completed. The data set generated by GRPon engine efficiency correlated well with the emissions data generated by the Automotive Research Association of India. The high level of correlation proved that the parameters drawn for assessing engine design could withstand expert scrutiny.
All in all, GRP was able to satisfactorily achieve a high degree of correlation in all aspects of the rating methodology, proving its robust ness as well as validity.
