Government authorities in Bangladesh said at least 12 people died in the storm that swept across the country in the second week of April. Over 54 people were reported missing and more than 100 were injured after winds hit southern districts and other parts of the country at a speed of 100 kilometres per hour. "The storm uprooted electric poles and flattened trees and straw houses,' said Moyezuddin Khan, district commissioner of Bhola district on the southern coast.
