March 18, 2005: Punjab Pollution Control Board (ppcb) says no residential colony can come up within 500m of the boundary of a designated industrial area
May 6, 2005: Distance reduced to 100m. No-objection certificates to allow residential complexes given to promoters
January 17, 2006: 100-m boundary proposal is done away with. ppcb proposes a 15-m wide green belt to be maintained towards the polluting side of adjoining industry. And, residents will have no right to complain against industrial pollution (Annexure 9).
January 30, 2007: High Court of Punjab and Haryana orders a stay on Annexure 9. ppcb asked to frame proper guidelines.
February 15, 2007: ppcb revokes all no-objections issued after January 17, 2007
April 2, 2007: Petition filed by a builder challenging cancellation of no-objection
April 2007: Punjab Urban Development Authority cancels
