soil dust: Is a main source of aerosols in sub-tropical and tropical regions. About 50 per cent of dust aerosols arises from disturbed soil surfaces.

sea salt: In marine areas with high winds, sea salt aerosols may be mainly responsible for both light scattering and forming clouds.

industrial dust: Transportation, burning of coal, cement manufacturing, metallurgy, and waste incineration are a few sources.

carbonaceous aerosols: Carbonaceous compounds
