Fudged AIDS of USA

Only about half the people with the highest risk from AIDS are tested in the US, according to a study done by researchers of the Atlanta-based Centres for Disease Control and Prevention. This means that infection rates in the country could be higher than what health experts estimated. Just 54 per cent of people who were reported of being at high or medium risk have been tested recently for HIV. The study cited lack of access to testing centres and a perceived lack of confidentiality as reasons for people not getting the test done (www.usatoday.com, November 29, 2001).
