EQUITY : an idea whose time has come
There was a time when negotiators and the civil society from the North would say that the climate convention should not be used to bring about justice and equity in the world. Things seem to be changing. More and more people are waking up to the need for having an international climate regime based on the principle of equitable entitlements for all human beings to the atmosphere.
For the first time, Southern NGOs had an established voice at the venue of an environmental negotiation through EquityWatch , a newsletter from the perspective of the civil society in the South. It was brought out by the New Delhi-based Centre for Science and Environment (CSE), in association with the Heinrich B
