East is best
Oriental food has the potential to guard against killer diseases like cancer and heart ailments. According to a top UK nutritionist, Helen Wiseman, oriental food is low on fat and rich in soya products, which are good at keeping these diseases at bay. It is reported that soya beans and other soya foods contain bioactive compounds called isoflavonoids which appear to mimic the action of tamoxifen, a drug used to cure breast cancer, prevent heart disease and osteoporosis. Exceptionally low rates of breast, colon and prostate cancer in countries such as Japan and China are being attributed to the consumption of soya products.
