87% of debt waiver beneficiaries are marginal farmers
PRASHANT K SAHU Over 87 per cent of the beneficiaries of the farm debt waiver and settlement scheme are small and marginal farmers. The latest data on the beneficiaries show that around 35 million farmers with land holdings of up to 2 hectares were covered, while another 5 million farmers had larger land holdings.
