Regulator ups prices of 19 imported insulin drugs

BS Reporter / New Delhi July 09, 2008, 0:14 IST Drug price regulator National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority (NPPA) has increased the prices of 19 imported insulin-based medicines. The decision is in response to requests made by importers Eli Lilly and Pfizer, who wanted an increase in the prices of specific brands on the grounds that the rupee had depreciated against the dollar, leading to an increase in the import cost. The price revision covers 13 brands of Eli Lilly and six of Pfizer.
