Good news for Govardhan canal
JAIPUR: There seems to be a silver lining for Keoladeo National Park amidst dark clouds this monsoon. The indications are that the finances for the construction of the Govardhan canal are forthcoming -- though in a trickle. Two members of the Rajasthan Government's Empowered Committee on Forest and Wildlife, V. P. Singh, MP and Rajpal Singh, who met Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje have informed The Hindu that during their meeting she made a commitment to release an initial amount of Rs.15 crores to start work on the Govardhan canal.
