Over 19 lakh jobless persons in State
Assam has 19,21,563 registered unemployed persons, with Kamrup accounting for the highest number at 3,43,862 followed by Sivasagar and Nagaon with 1,93,587 and 1,48,392 respectively. The figures include 2,24,125 graduates, 17,209 postgraduates, 2,438 engineering graduates, 3,39,227 higher secondary pass-outs, 6,87,461 matriculates, 17,784 ITI-trainees, 5,659 diploma-holders, 923 agriculture graduates, 353 veterinary graduates and 3,702 with other qualifications.
