PPCBL extends loan issuance date
With a view to facilitating the member farmers of the co-operative societies, Punjab Provincial Co-operative Bank Ltd (PPCBL) has extended the date for issuance of loans for the Kharif 2008 crop to July 31. Registrar co-operatives Punjab Malik Hassan Iqbal said here on Friday that by July 15. The bank had issued loans amounting over Rs 2.26 billion to 95,248 members/farmers of 13,053 co-operative societies, according to a press release here on Friday. Iqbal said the PPCBL has so far achieved 90.6 percent recovery of its Rabi 2007-08 loans, amounting Rs 2.25 billion.
