Big investment
Germany is going to promote installation of photovoltaic (PV) equipment on 100,000 roofs and facades throughout the country. In terms of budget and investment volume, this is the largest market scheme for PV technology ever launched, aiming to create a total energy generating capacity of 300 MW within just three years. One of the programme's objective is to substantially accelerate the industrialisation of PVs, create economies of scale and to act as an incentive in broadening the application of PV.
