Climate change and biodiversity for food and agriculture
Biodiversity for food and agriculture includes the variability among living organisms contributing to food and agriculture, including also the forestry and fisheries sectors. This concept includes diversity within species, between species and of ecosystems. While biodiversity for food and agriculture will be significantly affected by climate change, it will also be an important element in the development of production strategies to meet the challenges of climate change. This document summarizes key findings and identifies some suggestions for responding to climate change through the conservation and sustainable use of biodiversity for food and agriculture.
