United States climate change and energy policy: an overview and analysis
This analysis examines the state of U.S. climate change and energy policy at the federal and sub-national levels, capturing the key developments in 2008, and looking ahead to 2009. It refers to the role of the U.S. courts, and the activities of American industry. It argues that the United States is entering a period of opportunity and considerable challenges, in which growing political and popular support for action against climate change will confront economic difficulties that may shrink political and corporate agendas.
