Mangalore farmers say land not sold
the Mangalore Special Economic Zone limited, or msez, has been razing crops over six hectares (ha) of farmland belonging to the Kudubi tribe living in Perumude village in Dakshin Kannada district of Karnataka since the night of October 21. While the company claimed that the Karnataka Industrial Development Board had transferred the land to the sez, farmers living in the Kudubi-Padavu area said they were unaware of the move, claiming that the land was rightfully theirs.
