CSE comments on draft EIA notification 2009
MoEF has come up with the draft EIA notification 2009 which is a major disappointment for civil society as it proposes to further dilute the environmental clearance process. This document presents viewpoints of CSE on the draft EIA notification 2009.
The Union Ministry of Environment and Forest proposes to once again modify the EIA notification 2006. It came up with draft notification on January 19, 2009, which has now been put up for public comment. The draft notification is a major disappointment for civil society as it proposes to further dilute the environmental clearance process, which could pose a major risk to environment security of the country.
