DANG OF JOY
Of all the community forests being developed in Nepal's 57 districts, the forest region of Dang district is being fast developed as a model for community forestry. About a total of 27,000 families have been involved in this district as part of the project. An expert said, if the national forest north of Deukhuri is handed over to users and they are evaluated and rewarded according to their performance, community forestry in Dang would be a success. A total of 153 forests in the country covering 16,272 ha has already been banded over to the forest users' committee of Nepal.
