Unabated use
the past eight years have witnessed a drastic increase in the use of agricultural pesticides in the us. This was revealed in a report of the General Accounting Office (gao), the investigative arm of the Congress. gao concludes that the us department of agriculture (usda) and the us environment protection agency (usepa) have done little to reduce pesticide use through the promotion of integrated pest management (ipm) programmes. usda claims that ipm has been implemented on a large-scale.
