AAAS HQ goes green, earns gold award
An intensive, multiyear effort to make AAAS headquarters more energy efficient and environmentally friendly has earned the building honors from the U.S. Green Building Council. The headquarters is the first building in Washington, D.C. to earn gold-level certification in the existing building category through the Council's Leadership in Energy and Environmental (LEED Program).
