MEET ON THE TIGER

South Asian environmental experts and officials met in Nepal to discuss ways for regional cooperation to save the endangered tiger. Over 60 representatives from Bhutan, Nepal, India, Burma and Bangladesh as well as Worldwide Fund for Nature, participated in the three-day conference held in Sauraha, 145 km south of capital Kathmandu. Participants said they were seeking "trans-border cooperation' to save the tiger which is already close to extinction.
