Incentives for prosecuting

additional financial perks will be given to Madhya Pradesh's forest and police officials investigating wildlife-related crimes. The state government has decided to give Rs 10,000 to any officer whose investigations result in the imprisonment of poachers for more than two years. This system is being introduced to curb large-scale poaching in the state. It will ensure prosecution of poachers through investigations, claim state government officials. According to P K Mishra, chief conservator (wildlife) of the state, out of 718 poaching cases put up before the state judiciaries, only 32 had been disposed of till now. "Such slow progress is a matter of grave concern,' said Mishra.
