Plastic penalty
the jharkhand Pollution Control Board (jpcb) has issued show-cause notices to eight plastic units for manufacturing below-20-micron grade bags.
The notice followed an inspection in seven districts. jpcb has also notified the formation of a special task force to raid premises of plastic industries manufacturing illegal goods. "No plastic factory has applied for the mandatory no-objection certificate,' says a jpcb official. Following the task force's report, a criminal case will be filed against erring units.The board also plans to set up a body to monitor sponge iron plants.
