Salt lights

Saltwater power, the energy that is generated when river water converges with seawater, is being advocated for commercialisation. The resulting release of energy creates heat which can be turned into electrical power. Researchers in the Foundation for Scientific and Industrial Research (sintef) at the University of Trondheim, Norway, are currently investigating the possibility of harnessing saltwater power on a commercial scale. sintef believes that it is possible to build sufficient saltwater plants in Norway to produce 10,000 terra Watt hours per year ( Asian & Pacific Centre For Transfer Of Technology , Vol 2, No 19).
