SMALL BUT POWERFUL
Small hydro power projects have been launched under the Rural Energy Development Programme in Sindhupalchok district of , Nepal. The main objective of the programme is to raise the living standards of the rural poor and protection of environment. According to the district energy "advisor, initially, electricity will be provided to four village development com- ~ mittees within one year. The maximum power that can be generated under this scheme is 100 kilowatt. The pro- gramme will be run with the participation of the people.
