Shakti Sustainable Energy Foundation
Shakti is based in New Delhi, India. It was registered on the 5th of October 2009, as a Section 25 non-profit company. Shakti's mission is to catalyse innovative policy solutions that encourage energy efficiency and the development of newer energy sources. As a member of the ClimateWorks network, Shakti is able to leverage the world class technical expertise of these BPNs. Likewise, Shakti can draw on its international partners such as the United States Energy Foundation and the European Climate Foundation to advance India's climate and energy needs in the international arena. ClimateWorks operates through a network of regional foundations in areas with the greatest potential for reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Shakti Sustainable is its Regional Climate Foundation in India. It came into being in April 2009 to help India strengthen its energy security while transitioning to a low carbon economy.
