• A recent report made by the Punjab Pollution Control Board has made gloomy predictions for India's two major wetlands located in Harike and Kanjli areas in the state. Indiscriminate deforestation and mismanagement are devastating these wetlands.
• The world's biggest solar power chimney plant of 200 MW capacity is coming up at Jodhpur, Rajasthan. The 1,000 m-high chimney plant will start operating by the year-end.
• To check the rising traffic and the haphazard growth of satellite towns around Delhi, the national capital region planning boardbas announced an ambitious plan of Rs 13,900 crore on February 25.

• With a view to curb the discharge of chemical effluents into the drainage lines of Ahmedabad municipal corporation, the Gujarat High Court banned the movement of an tankers and similar vehicles in the industrial estates of VatVa, Naroda, Odhav and Narol-in a March 1 order.
