Ensuring drinking water
The farmers of the Bheema basin near Bijapur in Karnataka are in a jubilant mood. They have reasons to be happy. The Supreme Court recently admitted a public interest litigation (PIL), seeking to ensure supply of drinking water around the year. The court issued notices to the state government, Union government and the central water commission.
