CHECKING POLLUTION

The Karnataka High Court has ordered the Pollution Control Board (PCB) of the state to pass effective orders within three months on the complaint made against Indus Textile Limited (ITL). The complainant had alleged that the industrial plant is causing air, water and environmental pollution. It has adversely affected the people residing in the vicinity. Narayan Reddy, the petitioner, had filed a complaint before the PCB, alleging that ITL cotton textile plant was set up in a residential area of Bangalore and had failed to abide by the norms prescribed for controlling pollution.
